Cheryl is a waitress, bartender, and mother who works hard to support her family and friends. Cheryl’s family has dealt with more than their share of hardships, and at times, her health had to take a back seat.First, Cheryl’s two-year-old grandson was killed by a man the family had trusted, and the loss devastated the family. After two years of stressful legal dealings, the family thought their troubles were over. Then, in 2011, Cheryl’s daughter passed away suddenly due to a brain aneurism at age 29. A year later, Cheryl’s youngest son was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He passed away last year. Throughout all of this, Cheryl was dealing with her own health problems; she was diagnosed with leukemia. At first, she had no way to afford her medication, but she was eventually accepted into a treatment program, and now she is doing well with treatment.
Cheryl’s dental health problems started years ago when she lost some of her back teeth. Her dentist told her that without treatment, the rest of her teeth would eventually begin to shift out of place. Raising her children on her own, Cheryl did not have the means to afford dental care, so her teeth continued to shift and break. For over 20 years now, she has dealt with tooth loss, bleeding gums, oral pain, and tooth alignment problems.
Giving Cheryl a chance to get the treatment she needs would truly change her life. Working with people all day at her job, she feels that she can’t smile, and chewing certain foods with the left side of her mouth is painful and difficult. Cheryl has always put the needs of others before herself, but she is ready for positive change in her life. She wants to restore her teeth and her overall health so that she can smile confidently at her niece’s wedding and live a pain-free life. Donating to her cause will bring Cheryl one step closer to a brand new set of permanent, beautiful teeth. The sooner her donation goal is met, the sooner she can receive this life-changing procedure. The most remarkable part of Cheryl’s story is her positive attitude. Despite everything she has been through, Cheryl is thankful for the family she has; she is thankful for the people in her life who have helped her through these difficult times, and she understands how important it is to support the ones you love.
